The Batsbians are the descendants of the Ingush and Chechens who migrated to East Georgia at the beginning of the nineteenth century. They speak the Batsbi (Tsova-Tushian) and Georgian languages. Georgian is also the literary language.
Batsbian everyday life has many Georgian cultural elements. Gradually, the Batsbians assimilate with Georgians.
